Eisenhower didn’t like Earl Warren

1956—> 101 members of of congress didn’t like that he desegregated schools.

VOTING RIGHTS ACT OF 1965: federal commissioners allowed African Americans to vote; prohibited states from imposing qualifications or practices to deny the right to vote on account of race

BLACK PANTHERS PARTY: the Black Panther Party for Self Defense was the era's most influential militant black power organization. Its members confronted politicians, challenged the police, and protected black citizens from brutality; many of the leaders were killed by the FBI
