Religious response: Prejudice and discrimination

Qur’an says ‘do not let the hatred of a group of people prevent you from being just.’

Muhammad says to Bilal ‘yours shall be the voice.’ Bilal was an ex-slave and Muhammad didn’t discriminate against home being the first muezzin ands so we shouldn’t either.

The Qur’an says people are created so they may know one another - social connection not real if there is hate especially through discrimination and prejudice.

Pope John Paul II said “Men should truly esteem and love women with total respect for their personal dignity.” This shows Christians as against discrimination especially towards women.

In the story of the Good Samaritan it says “… the one who showed him mercy. Jesus said to him, go and do likewise.”

The Bible says “In Christ it doesn’t matter if you are Jewish or a Greek, enslaved nor free, male or female. You are all children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
