  6. Service cushion - covered foam for the client to be more comfortable

  7. Disinfection container - to disinfect the service area

  8. Supply tray/trolley - to transport tools easily for mobility

  9. UV light or LED light - for cooling gel polish

  10. Cotton balls container - where we put cotton balls (duhh)

A. Multi use - can be used over and over again (duhh3)

Multi use

  1. Metal pusher - used to scrape cuticle and nail plate

  2. Nipper - trim dead skin around the nail

  3. Tweezer - to pick up debris / place nail art / remove implements

  4. Nail clippers - cut away execess nails from the free edge (duhh4)

Single use

  1. Orange wood stick - remove dirt under the nail

  2. Nail brush - used to remove debris

  3. Nail buffer - smoothen irregular ridges

  4. Paddle - remove calluses on the feet (did not work with my table tennis paddle)

  5. Toe seperator - used to spread the toes

Materials

  1. single use towels - to dry and wipe nails on wet hand

  2. Cotton balls - to disinfect nail polish

  3. Liquid soap - used to remove bacteria before and after service

  4. Foot soak - to soften skin and calluses

  5. Exfolliating Scrub - to remove dead sjub

Cosmetic

  1. Polish Remover/ Acetone - to remove nail polish (duhh5)

  2. Cuticle Remover - remove dirt from nail plate

  3. Colored Nail polish - colored polish (no clue what true desc is)

  4. Base coat - to add before nail polish and 2 layers for the base coat

  5. Top coat - to keep the polish shiny and for color to be long lasting

  6. Gel polish - cured and hardened under UV lamp

Parts of the Nail

  1. Nail plate - visible portion of the nail and attached to nail bed

  2. Free edge - end portion of the nail

  3. Nail root - where the nail begins

Structure beneath the nail

  1. Nail bed - the skin where the nail plate rests

  2. Matrix part of the nail bed that has blood vessels and nerves ( located beneath the nail root and produces cells that generate and harden the nail which is called Keratin!)

  3. Lunula - half moon shape of the nail

Structure surrounding the nail

  1. Cuticle - over lapping skin around the nail

  2. Eponychium - cuticle extension at the base of the nail body overlaps lunula

  3. Hyponychium - portion of the skin under the free edge of the nail

  4. Nail walls - folds of the skin overlapping the sides of the nail

  5. Nail grooves - are slits or tracks in the skin at the side of the nail

  6. Mantle skin covering the mantle

    • Bigger nail bed (smaller nail beds look shorter and wider
