clāmor – shout, noise (like English word)

classis – fleet (of ships)

cohors – crowd (think cohort)

colloquium – talk, discussion (in latin club we have colloquiums)

cōnsilium – help, plan, council (think console)

consul – consul (2 consuls head the roman government; like president split in two)

cōnsulātus – the consulship (president -> presidency, consul -> consulship/consulatus)

contumēlia – insult (same in spanish and Italian)

cōpia – abundance (of item OR of soldiers)

corpus – body (think corpse)

dētrīmentum - defeat

deus - god

difficultās – hardship, trouble

digitus – finger (bio term, your fingers are “digits”)

disciplīna  - student (think discipline)

domus – home (I guess you could think like they live under domes?)

dux – leader (duco, ducere means to lead)

fīlia – daughter (think filial piety female version)

fīlius – son (think filial piety)

flūmen – river (a river “flows”)
