NASP 11 Steps to Archery
Stance:
The archer's body position when preparing to shoot.
Nock:
Placing the arrow on the bowstring.
Set Draw Hand:
Positioning the hand that will pull the string.
Set Bow Hand:
Positioning the hand that will hold the bow.
Pre-Draw:
Lifting the bow and drawing the string to a preliminary position.
Draw:
Pulling the string back to the anchor point.
Anchor:
Establishing a consistent point of contact for the draw hand on the face.
Aim:
Aligning the bow, arrow, and target.
Shot Set-Up:
A pause before releasing the arrow, ensuring stability.
Release:
Letting go of the bowstring to propel the arrow.
Follow Through and Reflect:
Maintaining form after the release and analyzing the shot.
Whistle Commands
1 Blow:
Indicates it is time to shoot.
2 Blows:
Indicates it is time to get bows.
3 Blows:
Indicates it is time to go get arrows.
5 Blows:
Indicates to stop immediately, return the bow, and go to the waiting line.
