Translating a Questionnaire:

• forward the translation

• back translation

• group validation

• conceptual equivalence

Interview issues:

• closed back to back questions

• doesn’t let the person expand on any answers

• no eye contact or open body language

• taking control and talking a lot but not allowing the patient to talk it through

• on her phone as patient is talking and not focused

• asks question, gives many examples and then just says “did you do something like that”

• does not allow the patient to provide constructive criticism

• phone again

• dismissive responses to patient and not really allow participator to expand
