Math II - Triangle Proofs

SSS (side side side) - if all the sides are equal, then the triangles are congruent.

AAA - if all the angles are equal, it doesn’t mean that they are congruent because they could have a different scale (would be a similar triangle).

In geometry similar means that the two triangles are the same shape, but not the same size.

SAS (side angle side) - if two sides and the included angle of another triangle are congruent to two sides and the included angle of another they are congruent

Included Angle - angle in between the two congruent sides.

ASA (angle side angle) - if two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another, they are congruent

Included Side - side in between the two congruent sides

AAS (angle angle side) - if two angles and the non-included side of one triangle are congruent to two sides and a non-included side of another triangle then they are congruent

SSA (side side angle) - a triangle shares two sides and a non-included angle

You are able to modify the angles of the triangle.
