  • Skeletal Muscle:

  • Functions of the Muscular System:

    1. Movement: Works with the skeletal system to allow the body to move.

    2. Support: Helps maintain balance and posture.

    3. Homeostasis: Regulates body temperature.

  • How Muscles Work:

    • Muscles work in pairs:

      • One muscle contracts (shortens).

      • The other lengthens (relaxes) to cause movement.
