4, 6, 10 markers

In IGCSE paper 1, you will get three sets of questions worth 4 marks/6 marks/10 marks.  These all require different techniques to do well.

4-markers (2-3 mins)

Very straightforward - yosu need four different pieces of information.  This would usually be four sentences.  They do not need to be explained points.

6-markers (12-15 mins)

Two explained paras (use PEEL) on distinct themes.  No intro or conclusion required.

10-markers (20-15 mins)

This is an essay.  Short intro, two paras on the side you support and one para on the other side, then a short conclusion.  If there is a stated factor in the question (e.g. inside a quote), you need two paragraphs on that factor.

Overall, the whole block of 4/6/10 should take 40 mins because you have a two hour exam and three sets of 4/6/10!
