Bill of rights

13th amendment- A constitutional amendment abolishing slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime, ratified in 1865.

14th amendment- An amendment granting citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States and ensuring equal protection under the law, ratified in 1868.

15th amendment- An amendment that prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on "race, color, or previous condition of servitude," ratified in 1870.

19th amendment- An amendment granting women the right to vote, ratified in 1920.

24th Amendment- An amendment that prohibits the use of poll taxes in federal elections, ratified in 1964.

26th Amendment- An amendment that lowers the voting age to 18 years, ratified in 1971.

1st amendment- An amendment that guarantees the freedoms of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition, ratified in 1791.

2nd amendment- An amendment that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms, ratified in 1791.

4th amendment- An amendment that protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures, requiring warrants to be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause, ratified in 1791.

5th amendment- An amendment that provides for the rights of due process, prohibits self-incrimination, and protects against double jeopardy, ratified in 1791.

6th amendment- An amendment that guarantees the rights of individuals accused of crimes, including the right to a speedy trial, an impartial jury, and legal counsel, ratified in 1791.

8th amendment- An amendment that prohibits excessive bail and fines, as well as cruel and unusual punishment, ratified in 1791.

9th ammendment- An amendment that asserts the rights of the people, stating that the enumeration of certain rights in the Constitution does not deny or disparage others retained by the people, ratified in 1791.

10th ammendment- An amendment that reserves powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, to the States respectively, or to the people, ratified in 1791.
