When installing software, a technician should be aware of the compatibility of the application

• Must have compatible storage space, RAM, CPU, and operating systems

• Single Platform Software: only able to install on one type of device or operating system

  • Examples: Console-exclusive video games (Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc)

• Cross Platform Software: can be installed across operating systems

  • Examples: Dropbox, and Zoom can be used across OS platforms
