● Identify Islamic beliefs from a list

● Identify the Islamic Pillars of Faith from a list, and explain one of the pillars of faith.

● Describe a mosque, and explain why mosques typically have certain physical elements.

Section B: How to Read the Bible

● Match the types of truth to definitions

● Identify from a list reasons Darwin’s theory of evolution forced Catholics not to read the Bible as

literally true

● Outline how Catholics used to understand the Bible before the mid 1850s and compare to how

Catholics read and understand the Bible today. Also outline advantages and disadvantages of the

changes.

● Very briefly summarise the plot of the film Inherit the Wind, and outline ways people responded to

the Theory of Evolution.

● Outline how the elements of Darwin’s theory of Evolution might have forced Catholics to rethink

beliefs such as

○ the belief that all creatures were created exactly as described in the Bible with no change.
