physiology

The study of how the human body or living organisms works when healthy or not

cytology

Examining cells from bodily tissues and fluids to determine a diagnosis
(individual bricks of a wall)

Vertical plane, sagittal plane, lateral plane

A plane that passes from head to toes dividing the body into anterior and posterior parts or left and right sections

Horizontal plane, transverse plane, axial plane, transaxial plane

Anatomical plane that divides the body into superior and inferior sections

midsagittal plane, median plane

A vertical plane that bisects the body through the midline into two equal parts

sagittal plane, longitudinal plane

A vertical plane which passes through the body lengthwise

coronal (frontal) plane, frontal plane
