Lessons 1&2 - Christian Beliefs

Our first lesson was a breif introduction to Christian Beliefs. We started with a Free Recall of our baseline knowledge on Christianity. We then learnt about the main denominations of Christianity which were Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox and covered the main beliefs of each denomination. We also covered the fringes of Christanity. Some examples were Unitarians, Mormons and Jehovas Witnesses. These Fringes are not classed as Christian as they do not believe in some of the main affectations of the religion. In lesson 2 we covered how the UK is a multifaith society and looked at data charts of religious percentages in the UK. Finally, we covered Secularism which is the belief that religion should not be involved in society, education and politics.
