IT is the use of computers storage and communication and other physical devices to create, process and exchange all forms of electronic data.
There are 3 types of jobs that includes IT.
They are Communication Tech, Office Automation, Computer Science. Computer Science includes, problem solving, algorithms and program implementation.
Office Automation includes information processing, impact on skills and jobs, and productivity tools.
Communication Tech includes, web tech, computer misuse, cyber security
Computers are devices that are capable of executing programs. Computer is a device that carries out programs
There are 5 types of computer systems (listed by quality). The 5 types of computer systems are: Supercomputers, Mainframe, Desktop, Mobile, Embedded Devices.
5 uses for supercomputers are: Weather Forecasting, Medicine Research, Subterranean research, Oil and Gas research, Nuclear Research
5 uses for mainframe are payroll computations, accounting, business transactions, information retrieval, airline seat reservations, scientific and engineering computations.
:A computer system is a computer installation that includes H.S.U.P.D.(hardware, software, users, processing and data.)
Computer systems requires
Input
Processing
Output
Storage
Input is the accepting of data/instructions
Output is information produced by a computer that is valuable to the user. '
Processing is the conversion of data information.
Storage is the holding of data/instructions and data.
The processing in a computer system is ran by the CPU (Brains of the computer). The CPU comprises of the Control Unit (CU fetches programs from the memory) and ALU (computes aritmatic and logical operations). The CPU comprises of microprocessors/cores. The more microprocessors the faster the processor is.
This is the part of the computer that gives the computer instructions via digital (characters, symbols, integers) and analogue (video, audio) and the part of the computer that displays visual and audible information
Primary is the storage that is slotted onto the motherboard. There are
Two types of storage''; ROM and RAM.
RAM is the instructions stored in order for a device to start up.
ROM is the storage of data when the device is on- it stores: programs awaiting to be executed, programs ready to be processed and data that has already been processed
Secondary storage is the storage that can be connected to the motherboard internally/externally in order for files to be secured off the device.
Side notes:
An all in one desktop is a desktop computer that comes with all aspects of hardware and software while a tower computer is a computer that requires the user to purchase a display screen, keyboard, mouse etc.
Supercomputers are rare, while mainframes are more common. Supercomputers are used for intricate and special tasks while mainframes are used in order to build and evolve companies
An embedded device is a device that carries out one specific task inside of a bigger device, an example of one is a speaker, An example of a special purpose computer is a calculator because this is a device that is programmed to do one specific tasks
