Learning Goals (LGs)

- Specific, explicit, measurable; 1–2 per lesson
- Written using ABCD structure:
- Audience – who learns
- Behaviour – observable action (verb)
- Condition – materials/strategy (using, given)
- Degree – success criterion (accuracy, repetitions)
Learning Experience Structure
- Introduction
- Purpose: context, motivate, activate prior knowledge
- Keep concise; use image, object, music, story, focus question, role-play
- Body
- Active tasks linked to real life; appropriate challenge
- Plan: student actions, teacher instructions, monitoring, questions, assessment
- Manage transitions (when, what, who) for seamless flow
- Conclusion
- Allocate time; revisit LGs; gauge achievement; inform next lesson
- Use prompts for reflection and summarising
Instruction & Explanation Techniques
- Clear, concise language; model actions

PEx Day 6 (Small-Group Teaching)
- Teach ≤ half-class on 15 May (≥20 min)
- Content aligns with mentor teacher’s plans; use LEP template
- Back-up plans for weather, timing, difficulty; verify resources & routines
