Lady of Shalott
Part I
- On either side of the river there are fields of barley and rye
- The road leads to the castle of Camelot (main town)
- The people on the road look out to the island of Shalott
- Four gray walls and four gray towers on Shalott where Lady lives
- Large boats towed by horses; small boats sail down to Camelot too
- Nobody has seen LOS only reapers have heard her sing in night
Part II
- She weaves all day
- A curse will fall on her if she looks at Camelot
- She doesn't know what this curse is so she just keeps weaving
- She is able to get past the curse by using a mirror
- She sees market girls, unmarried women, monks, shepherds
- Also sees knights but says she does not have her own loyal knight
- She weaves things that she sees
- She sees a funeral and two young lovers in the moonlight
- "I am half sick of shadows" she is sick of seeing the world but not experiencing it
Part III
- SL rode very close to LOS
- Very handsome, brass shin guard armor, shield with image of Knight Templar kneeling to lady
- His bridle is bejeweled (horse headgear); silver bugle
- Very flashy armor
- Looks like the trail from a bearded (beard of light) meteor over Shalott
- Curly black hair under the helmet
- Singing "Tirra Lirra" a very sexual song that gets LOS attention
- She gets up and looks at him in real life and her web floats around and her mirror cracks
- "The curse is come upon me"
Part IV
- Pale yellow trees losing leaves and river making angry sounds and raining
- She found a boat and wrote her name on the front of it
- She released boat from mooring at night and let the stream carry her to Camelot
- She wore a white gown
- She sang as she passed hills and fields and people heard her last song
- She looked at Camelot's towers and died before she got to edge of Camelot
- She floats down the city and people come to the wharf (dock) to see her and read her name
- They all asked "Who is this?"
- Knights of Camelot made the Cross in fear
- Only Sir Lancelot stopped and looked at the lady for a while and said "She has a lovely face; God in his mercy lend her grace"
