Definition of Illnesses
1. Deviant: from statistical or social norms
Not all variations from the norm are labeled as negative or abnormal
Situational context: the social or environmental setting of a person’s behavior
2. Distressful/Subjective discomfort: emotional distress or discomfort in certain contexts
Ex: experiencing intense anxiety when trying to leave the house
3. Dysfunctional/Inability to function normally
maladaptive thinking or behavior: anyhtig that does not allow a person to fit into socety or function normally
