Question A ii

Secondly, Sarah expresses her defensiveness through actions as she is desperate for this old woman not to talk to her;” the girl made a broad mime of adjusting her IPod, and assumed a dead-eyes glaze” Sarah is trying to avoid letting the old woman in and tries to turn the woman off her by listening to music and hoping she will see that Sarah isn’t willing to pay attention to what she’s talking about.

Lastly, as much as Sarah doesn’t want to talk to the old woman she does not want to seem rude, she feels the need to be conscious of the older woman’s feelings and how she might take her actions in as more than just defensiveness.; “ the girl considered changing seats but she didn’t want to be rude” Sarah didn’t want to go to the extent of insulting the woman just because she didn’t want to hear what she had to say, this makes Sarah seem like a caring person even if she is viewed as closed off and cold.

In conclusion my opinion of Sarah is shown through her behaviour and attitude towards the old woman and how even closed off she is considerate of the old woman’s feelings gives the hope that Sarah isn’t bitter just simply not in the mood to chat.
