Windows Control Panel
The Control Panel contains tools for both users and administrators. You can view it by 'Category' or 'Icons'. Key applets include:

  • Programs and Features: Manage installed apps and enable/disable Windows features.

  • Network and Sharing Center: Configure network adapters and connections.

  • Windows Defender Firewall: Configure security settings to prevent unauthorized access.

  • Mail and Sound Applets: Manage email and audio settings.

  • User Accounts: Manage local accounts and passwords.

  • Device Manager: View and troubleshoot hardware issues.

  • Power Options: Adjust sleep and hibernate settings.

  • Ease of Access: Modify settings for accessibility.


Windows Settings (L10: 9943)

The Settings app integrates Control Panel features into a more user-friendly interface for Windows 10/11. Access it via the Windows menu or search.

Key sections include:

  • Time and Language: Set time zone and language.

  • Update and Security: Manage updates and security patches.

  • Personalization: Customize UI with themes, colors, and backgrounds.

  • Apps Management: Uninstall or modify apps and features.

  • Privacy Settings: Control data sharing, app tracking, and speech recognition.

  • System Options: Adjust display, audio, and notification settings.

  • Device Management: Configure hardware settings (mouse, keyboard, printer).

  • Network and Internet: Manage connectivity and IP settings.

  • Gaming Options: Integrate with Xbox features and enable Game Bar.
