        • Appeal to them by giving audience ideas they can act on (Practical, easy, logical, etc.)

        • Not so much about being bored but more about time restrictions

      • Feel confident on what you're talking about

      • You want to talk about something you are passionate about more than anything

      • You also want to speak about something that will have value with the audience

      • Make sure not to exclude anyone because of what they come into the room knowing; meet people where they are

        • Credibility

        • You want to appear confident and competent, and as if what you are saying is a show of goodwill

        • Relate yourself to the audience, “I’m just like you”

        • Thinking of an idea- you want to put alot of effort into doing that thinking

        • Keep “3” in mind- in your speeches, have three main points in order to simplify and keep the flow

        • Always bookend main points by into & conclusion

        • How you’re speaking, words that you're using

        • The actual “vibe” of your speech

      • Memory

        • Be flexible- remember main points, don't memorize word for word

        • Minimum number of times to practice a speech is up to you, but generally should be 4

      • Delivery

            • Don't use words that talk down to audience

            • Meet them where they're at, speak in a way that aligns with what you're speaking about

            • Choose language to MEET THEM WHERE THEY’RE AT

            • Use plural pronouns (what can “we” do rather than I or you)

            • Presentation aids, powerpoint, what you’ll draw on the board

            • Body orientation- be open! Dont cross arms or legs

            • Always look at the audience

            • Don't wear a suit…

            • Dont be dressed super casual but not super dressy eiter

          • Vocal

            • Project your voice, be sure you can be heard by everyone

            • Have variety in the way you speak; its much more interesting to listen to a speech with engaging delivery, change of tone
