1800 Election

George Washington’s Presidency(Simple Review)

George Washington establishes a presidency based upon lack of a specific political party. Said government was established under the precedent of American neutrality during the French Revolution. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton would come to establish the first political parties of the Federalist and Anti-Federalists(Democratic-Republicans).

Election of 1800

John Adams, the long running of vice president of George Washington before becoming the 2nd president, represented the Federalist party. Thomas Jefferson, an established, wealthy farmer represented the Anti-Federalists. Both these ideas of how the nation should be run would create even more political tension between said farmers, Anti-Federalists, and those of Federalists.
