APUSH SAQ Format

Format of SAQ Notes

Time Periods:

• (1491 - 1877): Pre-Columbian to Reconstruction
• (1865 - Present) : Beginning of Gilded Age/Industrial Revolution to Present

Format:

• ACE Strategy   * Answer: with specific content knowledge   * Citation: Specific factual evidence to ATQ ( Do not be vague!)   * Explanation: how does the evidence prove the assertion? This is the THEREFORE statement.
• Stay in the Box (26 Lines)   * Label each SAQ A, B and C.

Secondary Source: Interpretation Periods 3-8 (1752-1980) (French and Indian War - Jimmy Carter Administration)

• Format:    * Read Questions First! (Know what you are looking for)   * Read both passages    * Question A: Explain the POV of each author (one sentence each). Final sentences use therefore to state how they are different or similar. 
• Format:   * ACE Strategy   * For E, link an event or development during the time period with the second author’s POV to help support their argument.

• Format:   * Read all 3 Questions First (think about the historical context)   * Read text/document   * Answer with ACE Strategy
