We function has a society so we have to know how to get along with each other

Why is attachment vital to human relationships?
That's how we communicate and its part of society, social relationships are foundation of society.
Define:
Stranger anxiety: by about 8 months, infants develop fear of strangers. They cry when they see a stranger-look for parent
Separation anxiety: sam age, child begins to cry when parent leaves
Contact comfort: physical and emotional comfort infants get from being touched by their mother
Need touch and be touched by something soft
Need stronger than the need to eat
Attachments comes from contact
Imprinting: process by which some animals fro immediate attachments to a critical period
