  • Each X.1 note will aid in this by contextualizing the events happening within the time period
  • This is a very brief recount of what has occurred directly before the time period and what will affect the period

Native Societies

  • Native American societies have been existing in degrees of peace or war all over the American continents
  • The societies have regular contact with one another but none with people from the Eastern Hemisphere
  • There are differing degrees of social organization, agricultural cultivation, architecture, etc.
  • These groups are distinct based on their religions, regions, cultures, etc.

Europeans

  • European forces are largely divided up into feudal kingdoms based on mercantilist values
  • Each nation is competing with the others for the most wealth and power
  • Most European nations are Christian, however there are a variety of denominations that set the nations or small groups apart
  • A few nations have begun investing in naval expansion
