AP Physics I Syllabus Notes
Six Big Ideas:
Objects and systems(groups of objects) can have properties(such as mass, charge, etc.)
Systems can have an internal structure(types and arrangement of various objects)
Fields(areas where points in space/time are affected by a force) can be used to explain interactions(between lots of stuff)
Forces(something that alters/maintains the motion of an object/system) can describe interactions between objects and systems
Interactions between specific systems(groups of objects) can change those systems
Conservation laws(laws that state that specific properties of specific systems don’t change over time) must be used when considering changes due to specific interactions.
The AP Exam will take place on May 16th, 2025.
Classroom Policies
The teacher should be notified of any abscences.
Students will be given two warnings for misbehavior before being removed from the class.
Students are expected to use integrity on school assignments. (No plagiarism, A.I., copy-pasting info, etc.)
Students must turn in work on-time(unless they are both sick and absent)
They would have a week to submit the work for full credit in that scenario
It is up to the student to complete assignments ahead of time in the case of known abscences.
Retakes will only occur if a student has scored below a 65% on an assessment.
The student must initiate, remediate, and complete the assessment within a week. The highest grade that can be earned is a 65%.
Grading Categories are as follows:
Homework(10%)
Classwork(25%)
Quizzes/Labs(30%)
Tests/Projects(35%)
