Conservation of Mass
Mass is always conserved in chemical reactions.
mass of the reactants = mass of the products
Why might a mass change in a reaction if this is the case?
- Mass increase
- One of the reactants is a gas found in the air
- Mass decrease
- The reactants make a gas, which ends up escaping
