  • part a (compare/contrast):

    • state both similarity & differences

    • you don’t have to explain the differences w/ historical evidence, but make sure you clearly state the contrast

    • Although [person 1] and [person 2] were both similar in terms of having ideas about _____, their overall interpretation differed. [person1], on one hand, believed _____. In contrast, [person 2]’s stance was that _____.

  • parts b & c (historical evidence):

    • explain the differences stated in part a

    • make sure you use specific historical evidence

    • do not quote (waste of time) so instead “snag words”

political cartoon

  • part a (perspective):

    • make sure you say if it is satire or sincere

    • The artist’s perspective as depicted by [name of political cartoon] reflects how [subject] is [description]. By portraying [subject] as [observation tying in historical evidence].

  • parts b & c (support & refute):

    • identify the change & define

    • reference the image & connect to OUTSIDE INFORMATION for your evidence
