About adjective endings…
In french, verb endings change whether the subject is masculine, feminine plural or both, for this reason it is important to know the laws that come with changing verbs.
When the masculine already ends with e, there is no need to change the feminine verb
Example: Moderne (M) and Moderne (F) are the same
When the masculine verb ends with eux, the verb ending for feminine is changed to -euse
Example: Ennuyeux (M) and Ennuyeuse
However, this verb ending doesn’t change when eux is masculine and plural
- Example: Ennuyeux (M) and Ennuyeux (P) are the same
If the verb is plural and masculine, an s is added
Example: Génial (M) and Génials
If the verb is plural and feminine, the verb ending changes to es
Example: Géniale (F) and Géniales (PF)
Comparatives
When talking about technology in french, you will often want to compare one gadget to another
To compare two things in french use these terms..
Plus - More
Moins - Less
Aussi - As
Que - Than
Sentence builder to compare different gadgets.
(gadget) + plus/moins/aussi + que (other gadget)
Example: Mon ordinateur est plus moderne que..
When building these sentences, always give reasoning to your opinion
Adding details refines your point, use words like:
souvent (often), toujours (always), and vite (quickly)
Negatives are encouraged too, such as on n’est pas besoin (there’s no need)
Reflexive verbs
When building sentences, it is nice to add reflexive verbs to add proficiency
Reflexive verbs describe actions that you or someone else does themselves, for example “I wash myself” (Je me lave)
remember when adding reflexive verbs, they need to agree in the perfect tense
Make sure that when speaking about a woman doing something herself, that you add -e as the verb ending
In the context of technology, you can use reflexive verbs to show actions that you or others do themselves through the internet
