Sentence

It is smallest structure unit of writing. Made up of complete idea, thought and feelings .

Types of sentences:

Based on function

• Declarative - used to give information about some thing. Examples - I am student

• Interrogative - used to ask question

• Imperative - used to pass order or command or request

• Exclamatory - used to express our emotional feeling and surprise

Based on number and type of clause

• Simple - has only one principal clause

• Complex - one principal clause + one or more independent clause

• Compound - two or more principal joined by coordinating conjunction, correlative conjunction, conductive adverb or semi colors . ‘

• Compound complex - two or more principal with one or more independent clause.
