  • superior courts - felonies, deivorces, title to land. May also hear appeals from lower courts.

  • superior court judges are elected to 4 years terms

  • state court - midemeanor cases such as traffic violations, search and arrest warrents.

  • State court judges are elected to 4 year terms

  • juvenile court - cases handling issues with children under the age of 18

  • juvenile judges are appointed by superior court judges to 4 year terms

  • probate court - wills, estates, appointment of guardians

  • probate judges are elected to 4 year terms

  • magistrate court - misdemeanors 15,000 or less(no jury)

  • magistrate judges are elected to 4 year terms
