1. General Terms
- Apple Inc. licenses the Apple software to the user, but does not sell it.

- The terms of the license apply to any software upgrades or updates, unless a separate license is provided for the upgrade or update.
2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions
- Subject to the terms of the license and unless the software was obtained under a volume or maintenance license, the user has the right to use the software. The usage must as permitted by the Services and Content Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- The user is granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to:
- Download, install, use, and run one copy of the software for personal, non-commercial use on each Mac computer they own or control.
- Commercial or educational users can use one copy of the software for use by a single individual on each Mac computer they own/control or by multiple individuals on a single shared Mac computer they own/control.
- If the software was preinstalled on Apple hardware, the user must log in to the Mac App Store and associate the software with their Mac App Store account to use it on multiple computers.
- If the user doesn't associate the software with their Mac App Store account, they can only use one copy on a single computer at a time.
3. Volume or Maintenance License
- If the software was obtained under a volume or maintenance license program, the terms of that license determine the number of copies allowed.
- All other terms and conditions of the license apply unless agreed otherwise in writing by Apple.
4. Apple Account
- Use of the Mac App Store requires a unique username and password combination (Apple Account).
- Apple Account is also required to access updates and certain features/Services of the Apple Software.
- Apple will use both the Apple Account and a unique hardware identifier to verify eligibility for update requests if the preinstalled software is associated with a Mac App Store account.
5. System Requirements
- Apple Software is supported only on Apple-branded hardware that meets specified system requirements.
6. Content and Digital Materials
- Content displayed through the software is owned by the respective content owner and may be protected by copyright laws and treaties.
- The license does not grant any rights to use such content and does not guarantee its continued availability.
- Users may not use, extract, or distribute any photos, images, graphics, clipart, or artwork from the software or services on a standalone basis, commercially or otherwise.
- Financial or health information displayed by the software is for general informational purposes only and should not substitute professional advice.
- Users are responsible for their financial or health decisions, and Apple does not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of such information.
8. Usage Restrictions
- The software cannot be installed or run on non-Apple computers.
- Unless otherwise licensed by Apple, only one user may use the software at a time, and it cannot be made available over a network for simultaneous use by multiple computers.
- Renting, leasing, lending, selling, or sublicensing the software is prohibited.
9. No Reverse Engineering
- Users are prohibited from copying, decompiling, reverse engineering, disassembling, or creating derivative works of the software, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law or licensing terms governing Open-Sourced Components.
10. Compliance with Laws
- Users must comply with all applicable laws when using the software and services.
11. Automatic Updates
- The software will automatically check for updates and install them if available, unless automatic updates are disabled in System Preferences.
12. Transfer
- Software obtained from the Mac App Store is non-transferable.
- When selling Apple hardware, the Apple Software must be removed before transfer.
- A one-time permanent transfer of preinstalled software rights is allowed if the software is transferred together with the Apple hardware. All materials, documents and components of the Apple Software must be transferred, and the user cannot retain any copies. The Apple software must not be associated with a Mac App Store account, and the receiving party must agree to the license terms.
- Modified Apple Software cannot be transferred, and components of Apple Software cannot be separated and distributed. A particular Apple hardware product may not run included software on other models of Apple hardware.
- Copies of the software provided for promotional, evaluation, diagnostic, or restorative purposes are limited to such activities and may not be resold or transferred.
13. Data Use Agreement
- By agreeing to usage collection for diagnostic purposes, users permit Apple to collect system, hardware, and usage statistics to fulfill the conditions in the License agreement.
- User’s information will always be treated in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy, which is available on Apple’s website.
14. Third Party Materials
- Apple is not responsible for third-party content or links. Apple doesn't guarantee any third-party data and will not show approval for third-party services.
- If a user is using the Apple software to use any content that was transmitted, the user has declared that they take ownership and have the right or affirmation to any data, images, and materials within the Apple software.
