AnimaliaDefine;
Colony- group of cells that are permanently associated but that do not communicate with one another.
Multicellularity
Aggregation- Temporary collection of cells that come together for a period of time, do communicate, and then separate.
Tissue- Distinct group of cell with similar structure and function.
Organ- Different tissues organized with a specialized structure and function.
Organ system- Various organs that carry out a major body function
5. What is the difference between a colonial organism and a multicellular organism and aggregation?
The difference between colonial organisms, multicellular organisms, and aggregation is that colonial organisms come together permanently but can not communicate, unlike aggregation where the organisms can come together temporarily but can communicate. Neither of them are considered truly multicellular because they must both be able to communicate and stay together permanently to be considered multicellular.
