  • nazi regime was just all of europe. some were annexed (western poland, austria, etc) and turned directly into provinces, most were just run by officials with help from nazis

  • ss took slavic people out of of eastern europe and replace them with germans, plans to do the same with soviet union

  • used european forced labor, which ended up with messed up production in their home countries, and more people started resisting occupation

  • einsatzgruppen- strike forces who rounded up all polish jews and put them in ghettos, in 1941 they became killing units who murdered jews in the soviet union

  • apparently wasn’t horrible enough for them, so starting in 1942, jewish people from all over europe were put in death camps. some were sent to labor camps, most were gassed, some were put into medical experiments

  • killed 6 million jews, 3 mil in death camps (90% of jewish people) (shoah)

  • also killed roma people, poles, ukrainians, belorussians, soviet prisoners

  • lots of people either ignored or didn’t believe the camps

  • japanese had conquered southeast asia (asia for the asiatics), promised that they would keep local governments, which wouldn’t happen

  • abused other countries, they started resisting
