Grá na máthair is téama dom dan seo. Cuireann an file síos ar mháthair agus a gasúr beag ag filleadh ar scoil i Méan Fómhair. Tá a mháthair ag caint sa dán. Insíonn sí dúinn faoin ghasúr óg agus. Táoina mothúcháin féin mar gheall air.
I véarsa a haon, tá an samhradh thart agus Méan Fómair atá ann. Tá an gasúr ag dul ar scoil, isteach sna naonáin mhóra déarfainn. Cuireann an gasúr óg éide scoile air,
“bronn ort féin éide,”
Tá sé míchompordach i ndiaidh saoirse an tsamhraidh. Cuireann sé a bhróga nua leathair air Níl sé ach sé bliana d’aois.
I véarsa a dó, déanann sí cur síos ar buachaill cróga, neamhspléach. Bhí bród uirti ag amharc air ag siúl go stad an bhus. Duirt sé léi gan é a phógadh. Dúirt sé léi gan fanacht leis ach oiread. Bhí ionadh ar an mháthair mar bhí sé ag éirí fasta suas go gasta.
I véarsa a trí, feicimid an mháthair grámhar, cosantach. Fagann sí a mac agus téann sí isteach sa teach. Ach amharcann sí amach faoin gcuitin faoi rún. Guíonn sí go mbeidh sé slán sábhailte ar scoil,
“go n-imeodh sé slán”
Guíonn sí go bhfoghlaimeodh sé le díograis/fonn. Is fear beag seanfhaiseanta cliste é, dar léi. a bhí anseo i saol eile.
“a chaith seal anso cheana",”
Ach fód níl sé ach sé bliana d’aois. Imníónn sé le hiontas ina shúile donna don saol mór. Tá sé galantá bheith óg agus soineanta. Mothaíonn muid grá na máthair go soiléir láidir sa véarsa seo.
Mar sin, is léir gur gra máthair is teama don dán seo i mo thuairim phearsanta féin.
ENGLISH
Mother's Love is the theme of this poem. The poet describes a mother and her little boy returning to school in September. The mother is speaking in the poem. She shares with us about the young boy and her own feelings about him.
In the first verse, summer is over and September is here. The boy is going to school, into senior infants, I would say. The young boy puts on his school uniform,
"put on your uniform,"
He is uncomfortable after the freedom of summer. He puts on his new leather shoes. He is only six years old.
In the second verse, she describes a brave, independent boy. She is proud watching him walk to the bus stop. He told her not to kiss him. He told her not to wait for him either. The mother was surprised as he was getting big so quickly.
In the third verse, we see the caring, protective mother. She leaves her son and goes back into the house. But she looks out the window secretly. She prays that he will be safe at school,
"may he go safely."
She hopes he will learn with eagerness. He is a smart little boy, in her eyes, who has been here in another life.
"who spent some time here already,"
But still, he is only six years old. He is filled with wonder in his brown eyes about the big world. It is delightful to be young and innocent. We feel the mother's love clearly and strongly in this verse.
Therefore, it is clear that mother's love is the theme of this poem in my personal opinion.
