democratization- the expanisn of individual rights and popular particicaption in government to establish a government that implements the will of the people
enlightenment- era in the 17-18th century when philosphers questioned traditional government , economics and society
natural rights-are fundamental rights that every person is believed to have simply because they are human.
reactionary-describes a person or group that strongly opposes change and wants to return to a previous state of society, government, or culture, often favoring traditional values or systems.
conservative- someone who values tradition and prefers to keep things the way they are or make slow, careful changes
moderate-someone with views that are in the middle, rather than extreme, on political or social issues.
libreral- someone who supports change, progress, and equality in society. Liberals often believe in protecting individual rights, promoting social programs, and making reforms to improve fairness and justice.
radical- someone who wants significant or extreme changes to society, often quickly and completely.
representative government- is a system where people elect leaders (representatives) to make decisions and pass laws on their behalf. It’s a form of democracy.
civil rights- are the basic freedoms and protections that every person should have under the law, such as the right to equality, freedom of speech, and the right to vote.
rule of law- means that everyone, including leaders and government officials, must follow the law. No one is above the law, and laws are applied fairly to all people.
