The three main muscle tissues are cardiac skeletal and smooth muscle
Flexion- decrease angle by bringing two body parts together (bicep curl
Extension- extension makes it largers, oving two body parts father away from eachother (tricep extension)
Cardiac Muscle- specialized type of muscle tissue that forms the heart
Skeletal muscles- muscles connected to bones
Smooth muscle- covers wall of internal organs (liver)
What are the three parts of the muscle? Body - main portion, Origin- the fixed attachment, Insertion- point of attachment to part of body moved by this muscle.
Fast Twitch- provides bigger and more powerful focus, but for shorter durations and quick fatigue.
Slow Twitch- fatigue resistant, and focused on sustained smaller movements.
What are the major muscles in the front? Biceps, Abdominals, pectorals, obliques.
Four quad muscles: Rectus Femoris, Vastus Intermedialus, Vastus lateralis, Vastus medialis. Xtra Credit
What are the major muscles in the back? Trapezius, Deltoid, Triceps, Latissimus Dorsi, Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius,
Three Hamstring muscles: Semimembranosus, Semitendinosus, Bicep femoris
Two calf muscles: Lateral head, Medial head
Latissimus dorsi –_Forms width of back_, it causes arm extension.
Trapezius –_On top of back_ . It moves the scapula bone, and it looks kind of whack.
Deltoid – Muscles found on shoulder
Biceps - On front of arm When it flexes the elbow,
Triceps – causes forearm extension
Pectoral – Make up chestArm flexion and adduction is what they do best.
Abdomal – flexes spine
Obliques (internal/external) – sides of abs. They help rotate the trunk so you can turn the other cheek.
gluteus maximus – The gluteus maximus makes up your booty.
Rectus femoris- On front of thigh it extends the knee so you can jump really high.
Hamstrings: back of knee, flex the knee It consists of three muscles as you can see.
Gastrocnemius – causes plantar flexion, helps you stand on toes and walk in any direction.
