Enlarged Guest Room Plans

Enlarged Guest Room Plans

Overview

  • Detailed information is conveyed in one drawing, including:
    • Floor plan
    • Reflected ceiling plan
    • Electrical plan
    • Furniture plan
    • Axonometrics
    • Interior elevations

Scale and Dimensions

  • All four images are presented at a scale of 1/4 inch equals a foot.
  • Dimensions on the floor plan are anchored to column grids.
    • Example: 12 feet from the center line of the grid to the outside face of the EPIS system.

Floor Plan Details

  • Suite Layout:
    • Door from the hallway with a door number.
    • Kitchenette.
    • Sitting area.
    • Sleeping area.
    • Closet.
    • Bathroom.
  • Interior Elevations:
    • Symbols indicate individual interior elevations and their locations (e.g., on page A427, image number 14).
    • Multiple interior elevations are referenced (e.g., numbers 6, 9, 8, and 7).
  • Section Cut:
    • A section cut through the cabinet is on page A530, image 12, likely in millwork drawings.
  • Legends:
    • Legend keys are presented at the beginning of the enlarged guest room plans.
  • Special Wall Detail:
    • Similar to the special wall seen on floor plans.
    • Hotels need to maintain specific sound transmission coefficients between units.
    • A double wall with an airspace and insulation typically meets these requirements.
  • Chase for venting.

Reflected Ceiling Plan

  • A reflected ceiling plan is as if you had a mirror on the floor looking up.
  • Ceiling types and heights are indicated (e.g., Level 1 has ceiling type B, levels 2-4 have ceiling type A).
  • Light fixture locations:
    • Normally, light fixtures are not dimensioned unless their locations are very specific.
    • Example: A light fixture is equally located between two faces where there's a change in ceiling height.
    • Fixtures are often anchored to walls.
    • Example: A fixture is located 1 foot 9 inches from the end of a wall.
    • Light fixtures are equally located within the shower area.

Revit Model and Information Extraction

  • Virtual tours are possible within Revit.
  • The furniture plan, electrical plan, and interior elevations are extracted from the same model.
  • Modeling uses different layers for electrical symbols, electrical dimensions, furniture plan keynotes, and elevation plan keynotes.

Electrical Plan

  • Anchoring to walls rather than structural grids.
  • Locating outlets instead of light fixtures (as in the floor plan).
  • Legends define different electrical symbols (e.g., switch, television outlet, regular two-plex outlet).

Furniture Plan

  • Information is extracted from the specifications book or interior design drawings.
  • Details about furniture items are included (e.g., chair is table x-212).

Interior Elevations

  • Information conveyed includes:
    • Bed number (e.g., Q104).
    • Pillow numbers (e.g., X106A and B).
  • All interior elevations are drawn at 1/4 inch scale, consistent with other plans.

Summary

  • The enlarged guest room set of drawings is highly informational.
  • It's easy to see details, and the 3D model in the drawing is beneficial.
