What is the Mini Toolbar?
A small toolbar that appears next to text you select using the mouse or when you right-click a document, worksheet, slide, or database cell. It provides quick access to basic text-formatting commands, such as bold, italic, and font color.
Show/Hide Mini Toolbar:
To toggle the visibility of the Mini toolbar:
Click the File tab on the Ribbon.
Go to Options.
Check or uncheck the Show Mini Toolbar on selection box.
Formatting Text
Modifying Text Appearance:
Highlight important text to distinguish it from other text or objects.
Use text color, font choice, or size to emphasize different elements on a slide.
Example: If there are two text objects, format one differently to draw attention to it.
Steps to Format Text
Change Font Color:
Select text, then use the Font Color arrow in the Mini toolbar.
Choose a color (e.g., Dark Red).
Change Font Size:
Select the text object (e.g., "Presented by").
Click on the Font Size arrow in the Mini toolbar and select the desired size (e.g., 28).
Changing the Font Type:
Access the Font options in the Home tab.
Select the desired font from the list (e.g., change from Calibri Light to Corbel).
Hover over font names to see a Live Preview of what the text will look like.
Bold and Italicize Text:
Select the text and click the Bold and Italic buttons in the Font group to enhance the text appearance.
Adding Bullets and Paragraphs
Adding Bullets:
Bullets can be graphic images or simple shapes (dots, arrows).
To apply or change bullets:
Select the desired text.
Click the Bullets arrow in the Paragraph group on the Ribbon.
Choose your bullet style.
Increasing Font Size with Bullets:
To increase font size while applying bullets, select the text and press the Increase Font Size button.
Saving Your Work
To save changes, remember to click a blank area of the slide to deselect all selected objects before saving.
