  2. Sogak - music for common people and is informal and energetic.

  • Nongak - farmers song used to please their god for a abundant harvest / instrumental.

  • Shaman - ritual music / instrumental.

  • Pansori - narrative song dramatic and storytelling.

  • Sanjo - fast instrumental solo.

  1. Gayageum - flat layered string instrument has 12 strings. Most popular korean instrument

  2. Geomungo - six strings and has six props played by a plectrum

  3. Haegeum - 2 strings held vertically

  1. Piri - bamboo oboe it has 8 holes 7 holes in front 1 in the back

  2. Saenghwang - 17 bamboo pipes

  3. Daegeum - bamboo flute bigger and longer than piri

  4. Taepyeongso - conical wooden body and cupped shaped bell

  1. Janggu - 2 headed drum shape like hour glass.

  2. Buk - 2 headed drum round shape shaped like a barrel with a wood body.

Basic Skills

Service skill - is used to serve the ball going to the opponents court it also serves as start of the play

types of service

  1. Jump serve

  3. Underhand serve

  4. topspin serve

Pass/Dig skill - is an important skill in volleyball.

Blocking - is a defensive skill used to prevent the ball to get inside the court and hit the ground it needs timing and strategic positioning

Spiking - offensive attack done by forcing the ball to hit the ground without being touched by the opponent

overreaching - a move wherein the hands are extended above the net and into the portion of the opposing side

Ball setting technique - is used in an offensive play particularly before the spiker attacks the ball
