Safety Contract

Purpose:

Science is an interactive laboratory class.

Science activities have the potential to be

hazardous. We will use some equipment

and animals that may be dangerous if not

handled properly. Safety in the science

classroom is an important part of the

scientific process. To ensure a safe

classroom for all students in Plano ISD,

lists of rules have been developed. The

Student Safety Contract contains rules that

must be followed at all times. Additional

safety instructions will be addressed in

each activity, demonstration, lab or

experiment conducted in science

classrooms in PISD.

No science student will be allowed to

participate in science activities until this

contract has been signed by both the

student and the parent/guardian and

returned to the teacher.
