Key Plan and Drawing Types

  • Enlarged drawings for the public restroom include:
    • Key plan area (location of restroom).

Public Restroom Floor Plan Details

  • Structural grid is present and dimensions are anchored to it.
  • Double wall construction (similar to guest room plans):
    • 9 inches on either side of the structural grid.
  • Icons indicate interior elevation locations.
  • Dimension for minimum quarter width is provided.
  • Wall information and dimensions inside stalls are included.
  • Room names are indicated.

    • Equal centerline of fixture from where the ceiling drops to the actual wall, on top of the vanity.
  • Wall section callout (sheet A457 image 9) goes through the double wall.
  • Finished material drawing is available.

Interior Elevations

  • Men's interior elevations are on one line, women's on another.
  • Details are located above the elevations.
  • Men's elevations are at a quarter inch equals a foot scale (\frac{1}{4}" = 1').
  • Detail calling out similar cabinetry drawings.
  • Revision indicated by a PT5 callout.
  • Images indicated as similar: Detail might be a reflected image.
  • Legend calling out contents (e.g., ADA grab bar, toilet paper dispenser).
  • Section cuts are indicated, with references to details.

Details and Clearances

  • Clearance requirements:
    • 8-inch clearance required from the face to the beginning of the angle.
    • Minimum dimension from the floor to the underside of the lip of the vanity.
    • Maximum dimension from the floor to the top of the vanity.
  • These dimensions align with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
    • 11 inch minimum clear space for wheelchair access.
