WHMIS-Workplace hazardous Meaterial information system

  • Created in 1988

    Reason why it was created

  • To give employers and workers information about the hardous products or chemicals they may be exposed to at work

  • to reduce workplace injures and illness

    WHMIS imformation on hazardous priooducts must be presented in 3 ways:

  • Labels-on the containers of hardous products are affixed

  • Safety data sheet-in addition to the label,with detailed hazard and precautionary information are present

  • Worker education-programs must be avaible
