English - words containing each of the phonemes, common word exemptions and days of the work, handwriting, vocab, grammar, and maths
Maths - number and place value, addition, and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, position and direction, statistics, and geometry.
Science - animals and humans, habitats, plants,
foundation subjects
art & design - using a range of materials, drawing and paintings, colour, pattern and texture, lines, shapes, form, space
computing - understand algorithms, debug simple programs, logical reasoning
design & technology- design appealing products, generate, develop, and communicate ideas and use basic principles of a healthy varied diet, prepare, and cook using a range of cooking techniques, understand seasonality
geography - name and locate the 7 continents, identify characteristics of 4 counties, know the capitals of the UK
history - changes within living memory, events beyond living memory
music - use voices expressively and creatively by singing songs, speaking chants, play tuned and untuned instruments, listen with concentration and understand high quality live and recorded music, experiment with, create and combine sounds
PE - master basic movements, running, jumping, throwing, catching, balance, agility, co-ordination, and apply these in a range of activities, participate in team games, develop simple tactics, dances with simple movement
KS4 - citizenship, computing and physical education remain compulsory. Other foundation subjects become optional but may be studied at GCSE’s
At the end of the KS4 - young people may to take level 2 qualifications (GCSE’s and technical qualifications)
other requirements - state schools have to hold collective worship, which usually takes place as part of an assembly, relationship and health education is required in all key stages, sec education is required in KS3 and KS4.
