A problem is a situation that is difficult to manage, caused by one or more agents usually resulting in undesirable effects.

Problem solving in the context of information technology includes defining the problem, coming up with possible solutions, evaluating the solutions and implementing the best one.

Data is unprocessed, disorganized and discrete.

Information is complete, accurate, timely, consistent, valid and appropriate.

Information can be essential, desirable, extraneous or cosmetic.
