Muscular endurance - is the ability to continue contracting a muscle or a group of muscles against resistance
Flexibility - is the ability to use your joints fully through a wide range of motion
Skill-related components - are physical abilities that show potential for good performance in certain skills like
Speed - is the ability to move all or part of the body as quickly as possible
Agility - is the ability to rapidly change body direction, accelerate, or decelerate
Reaction time - or quickness is the ability to respond to a stimulus
Balance - is the ability of the body in a steady position while standing and moving
Coordination ability - is the ability of body parts to work together when you perform an activity
Body Mass index (BMI) - is the body’s relative amount of fat to fat-free massZipper test - is used to test the flexibility of the shoulder girdle
Sit-and-Reach - is used to measure the flexibility of the lower extremities
Three-Minute Step test - is for cardiovascular endurance
Push up measures - the strength of upper extremities
Basic plank - measure strength/stability of core muscles

Standing Long Jump - to measure the explosive strength and power of the leg muscles
Hexagon agility test - to measure the ability to move in different directions quickly
Stick drop test - measures the time to respond to a stimulus
Juggling - is used to measure the coordination of the eye and hand
Stork Balance Stand Test - is used to assess one’s ability to maintain equilibrium
DANCE - a form of expression of oneself through rhythmic movement
FOLK DANCE - the oldest form of dance and the earliest form of communication the traditional dance of a given country which evolved naturally and spontaneously with everyday activities
5 Major Classifications of Philippine Folk Dances
Cordillera Dances - Dances reflects rituals which celebrate their daily lives a good harvest, health, peace, war, and other symbols of living
Spanish Influenced Dances - Dances reflects Christianity, and European art and culture
Muslim Dances - Influenced by Malay, Javanese & Middle Eastern Traders (Islam) mysticism, royalty, and beauty • Uses intricate hand & arm movement
Tribal Dances - intricate craftsmanship in metal, clothing, and jewelry reflects rituals & animals, belief in "spirits" & shamans, nature - "anito" • Also known as Ethnic dances; Ethnic minorities found in different parts of the Philippines (T'boli, Bilaan, Manobo, Bagobo, etc.) animal sounds, human singing, indigenous materials
Rural Dances - Shows gaiety & laughter, festivities Performed in fiestas to honor patron saints give homage to the barrio's namesake for a good harvest, health, & perseverance

BODILY SHAPES - Refers to how the entire body is molded in space on the configuration of body parts.
GROUP SHAPES - viewed together as a total picture or arrangement within
Action - Any human movement included in the act of dancing— it can include dance steps, facial movements, partner lifts, gestures, and even everyday movements such as walking.
space - This is the area the performers occupy and where they move. It can be divided into four different aspects
Sustained- movements are done smoothly, continuously, and with flow and control does not have a clear beginning and ending
Percussive- movements are explosive or sharp in contrast with sustained movement. They are accented with thrust of energy. They have clear beginning and ending
Vibratory- movements consists of trembling or shaking. A faster version or percussive movements that produce a jittery effect
Swinging- movements trace a curved line or an arc in space. The movements are released and giving in to gravity on the downward part of the motion, followed by an upward application of energy
Suspended- movements are perched in space or hanging on air, holding a raised leg in any direction is an example of a suspended movement.
Collapsing- movements are released in tennis and gradually or abruptly giving in to gravity. Letting the body descend to the floor. A slow collapse can be described as a melting or oozing action in a downward direction
Creative Rhythms - sometimes called fundamental rhythms or natural dances. It is an end product of exploration and improvisation of movements as children learn to move the parts of their body and to use them as instruments of expression.
Folk/Ethnic Dance - It is a cultural art form handed down from generation to generations. It communicates the customs, beliefs, rituals, and occupations of the people of a region or country.
Social and Ballroom Dance - Social and ballroom dancing are generally held in the evenings. The participants are usually in formal attire.
Recreational Dance - The setting is usually informal gatherings and parties, reunions etc. It includes dance mixers, square dance, round and couple dances
Creative Dance - It is the highest form of dance. It is the end-product of exploration and improvisation of movements as the dancer or the choreographer expresses his feelings or emotions, ideas, and interpretations.

National Dance -found throughout the islands with little or no modification
Local Dance - found in a certain locality.
