Be able to deconstruct a medical term and label each word part, example: dysmenorrhea
Dys- (prefix)

Understand where the hyphen is placed on a prefix and a suffix
Be able to verbally define medical terms understanding that the suffix is usually the first part of the definition and the word root or combining form is stated or written second. Example: gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) NOT (stomach inflammation).
