Paragraph two and three

Furthermore, Gore expresses his concern for all the people who feel they have to evacuate as the established buildings they prolonged called home are built on low lying coastal areas where sea levels have risen too high for their own safety. Gore states “people in the frozen arctic and on low lying pacific islands are planning evacuations of places they have long called home due to rising sea levels” In making this statement, Gore is once again arguing his view through fact but also emotion, as he attempts to pull the heartstrings and the minds of the people by saying “ planning evacuation of places they have long called home” this having people feel sorry and questioning whether if they weren’t so arrogant on changing earlier could this have been avoided.

Lastly, Gore mentions the burning of forests and the consequences of the people’s actions, the consequences being animals are spiralling into extinction. He says “ We are recklessly burning and clearing our forests and driving more and more species into extinction.” Gore continues to say “ the very web of life on which we depend on is being ripped and frayed” essentially telling the people that not only are we drawing out animals from the world but also the animals that go hand in hand with our livelihoods are being ripped away from existence too. Gore demonstrates that if we don’t turn our own lifestyle around, try making the change of the world, our animals will soon be gone and not for a little while but forever.
