Nucleus: Cell control center with DNA.

Mitochondria: Makes energy for the cell.

Chloroplast: Does photosynthesis.

Ribosome: Makes proteins.

Rough ER: Protein-making transport system.

Smooth ER: Lipid-maker and detoxifier.

Golgi: Packages and ships materials.

Lysosome: Breaks down waste.

Vacuole: Storage space in the cell.

Cytoplasm: Jelly-like inside of the cell.

Membrane: Controls entry/exit of materials.

Cell Wall: Provides structure.

Bilayer: Double-layer fat in membranes.

Active: Transport using energy.

Passive: Transport needing no energy.

Diffusion: Molecules spread out.

Facilitated: Helped diffusion with proteins.

Hypertonic: Cell shrinks as water leaves.

Hypotonic: Cell swells as water enters.

Endocytosis: Cell takes in stuff.

Phagocytosis: Cell "eats" big solids.

Exocytosis: Cell pushes stuff out.
