The Nazi Party

The word Nazi originates from the full party name Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. It is also referred to as NSDAP.

The Nazi party believes in Anti-communism, antisemitism, Racism, Living Space “Lebensraum”, expansionism, nationalism and Social Darwinism.

Social Darwinism & Racism: The belief that some races are more developed, civilised and evolved compared to the others, which justified the Nazis' ideology of racial superiority and contributed to their policies of exclusion and violence against groups they deemed inferior.

Nationalism: Great pride in your own country, leading to a feeling of superiority over other nations and a desire for national dominance, which was a key aspect of Nazi ideology and influenced their aggressive foreign policy.

Anti-communism: A fundamental element of Nazi ideology, characterised by the belief that communism, particularly Marxism, posed a significant threat to German society and must be actively opposed through political suppression and violence.

Antisemitism: The pervasive doctrine that vilified Jewish people, depicting them as responsible for various societal problems, which led to widespread discrimination, persecution, and ultimately, the Holocaust.

Expansionism & Living Space: The idea that the German people needed additional territory for national growth and survival, which justified the invasion and occupation of other countries, particularly in Eastern Europe, as part of the broader strategy to secure resources and establish dominance.

Nazi World Views:

  • The Superior Race was the Aryan Race (northern Europeans), which placed them at the top of the hierarchy.

  • This ideology dehumanized other races, particularly Jews and Slavs, and was used to rationalize discriminatory laws and violent actions against these groups.
